Elliot Lund01/07/1945 ~ 01/24/2013Mt. Pleasant, UTElliott Clifford Lund passed away January 24 at home surrounded by his family. He was born January 7, 1945 in Moroni to Clifford and Phyllis Lund. He was the first of three children. He attended school in Moroni and Mt. Pleasant. He graduated from North Sanpete High School in 1963.He enlisted in the Navy in 1964 and served 3 tours of duty in Vietnam.He married his lifelong companion Helen Ruesch on February 11, 1967. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti Temple on September 21, 1977.Elliott worked as an electrical contractor and had a passion for his work. He started his career as a lineman, worked as Mt. Pleasant City Electrician and started Elliott Lund Electric in 1970. He became a Master Electrician in 1974, the youngest in the State at the time.He had a lifelong pursuit of knowledge spending hours researching his many interests. He found joy in sharing his wisdom with everyone. Elliott was not only a skilled electrician but an artist as well. His talents included computer graphic design, wood pictures created by individually carved pieces of wood which were then hand painted and arranged to form incredible pieces of art. He could even turn shotgun shells into pens. There wasn't anything Elliott couldn't do.He was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather. He loved spending time with his family and taking trips to Arizona. His family was his life.He is survived by his wife Helen; children Chad Lund of Mesa Arizona, Janae (Kelly) Kubota of Mt. Pleasant, Jenifer (Troy) Winger of Mesa Arizona; 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; mother Phyllis Lund, brother Curt Lund and sister Judy Kiesel.He is preceded in death by his father Clifford LundFuneral services will be held January 31 at 11:00 a.m. in the Mt. Pleasant 5th ward church (49 S. State) . Friends and family may call Wednesday, January 30, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Rasmussen Mortuary (96 N 100 W), Mt. Pleasant and Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to services at the church. Interment in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery with military honors. Online condolences may be made at www.rasmussenmortuary.com
