Charles Lloyd MundeeSept. 19, 1938 ~ Jan. 28, 2013We lost our rock and the center of our world after a life well-lived and a year-long fight with pancreatic cancer.Charles was born in Needles, CA. and grew up in southern Colorado. He met the love of his life, Phyllis, at age 11 and they married in Cortez, CO at 19.He got a job hauling uranium ore and has been a truck driver ever since. After moving with his family eight times, they landed in Salt Lake City in 1970, where Charles proceeded to log four million accident-free miles for IML, Garrett, and ABF. After retiring in 2001, he bought a Dodge pick-up and a fifth-wheel, and he continued to drive, serving as Wagon Master for the Ute Salt Shaker Good Sam Organization.Chuck lived his life with courage, honor, and integrity, teaching over and over how to do the hard things in life. He filled his weeks with coffee, lunch with his buddies, sister, Leona, and brother-in-law, Jerry, and running errands for his wife. He spoiled his dogs, and he was most proud of the people his kids and grandkids have become. He considered himself a very lucky man. Grandpa will be in our thoughts every time we take a boat ride, buy a car, or have a cup of coffee.Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd Mundee and Adeline Pierce. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis; son Mike and Karie Mundee; daughter Vickie and Ken Thomas; sisters Leona and Jerry Killen, Sharon (Adolph) Ortiz, and Monica (Art) Leonard; grandkids Sarah Thomas, Steve Mundee, Brian Mundee, Annie Thomas, Jamie Thomas, and Matt Mundee; and dear friends Scott, Nancy, Brooke, and Brad Hansen. The day he was diagnosed with cancer, Charlie said, "Don't cry for me.
