Bessie A. Rasmussen 1913 - 2013Bessie passed away peacefully on January 27, 2013. She was the youngest of eight children born to Eskil and Minnie Jensen Anderson on June 19, 1913, in Fountain Green, UT. She married Ken D. Rasmussen on July 28, 1932. Their marriage was solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple. He preceded her in death. While Bessie's first priority was always taking care of her family, she was also dedicated to helping others through church service; including 48 years as a visiting teacher, serving in the Primary, Sunday School, Relief Society and on her LDS Stake Board. She happily gave her time, energy, and talent as her Stake Chorister, a Singing Mother, Relief Society president, president of the PTA, and as a volunteer with the Girl Scouts.She was an accomplished artist, talented poet, and musician. She spent countless joyous hours painting and crocheting. Her children and grandchildren are the delighted recipients of her remarkable handiwork.Bessie is survived by her four children; Gay Rokich, Ken Edgel (Clea), Phil (Lois), Susan Amidon (David), six grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren.Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 2, at 11 a.m. at Larkin Sunset Lawn Mortuary, 2350 East 1300 South, Salt Lake City. Friends may visit one hour prior to services.In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Bessie's name to The Utah Arthritis Foundation, The Huntsman Cancer Institute, or a charity of your choice.Our family sends our deepest gratitude and thanks to Legacy House - South Jordan and Aspire Hospice for the loving care given to our mother and grandmother.
