Claudia Rosetta Busack Rex Waddoups1919 ~ 2013Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, Claudia Rosetta Busack Rex Waddoups, 93, passed away peacefully on January 27, 2013, and returned home to be reunited with her sweetheart, parents, two children and other family members. This Southern Belle was born in Atlanta, Georgia, on February 23, 1919, to Robert Johan Busack and Willie Marie Peak. Sometimes called, "Rosie," she was raised with her siblings Catherine, Robert Jr., Edith, and Bobbie. Claudia married her eternal companion, Samuel Wayne Rex, November 8, 1941, in the Salt Lake Temple. They were blessed with nine children. Claudia was steadfast, hardworking, and was tenacious in carrying out her responsibilities as a mother. After her beloved Wayne passed away in August of 1967, Rosie continued to raise her children working as a nurse at the Wyoming State Hospital in Evanston, and later at the LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City. As she would sometimes mention in her later years, "I did the very best that I could with what I had." On January 11, 1979, Claudia married Clyde Anson Waddoups and the two enjoyed a special companionship until his passing in the summer of 1980. She continued her career in nursing caring for elderly home-bound patients who were often younger than her. Claudia was a devout member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints throughout her life. She had a strong testimony of the Gospel and served faithfully providing an example to all who knew her. Claudia was truly one who endured to the end. She loved gardening, traveling and reading. As was true with her own children, Claudia took great pride and had unparalleled love for all of her large posterity. Claudia is preceded in death by a daughter, Bobbie Carolyn, and a son, Robert Craig. She is survived by her children, Dale and (Linda) Rex, Sam Rex, Claudia and (Verdis) Winder, Nancy and (Dave) Beachler, Faye Rex, David and (Sheila) Rex, and Letty and (Jon) Willden along with 25 grandchildren, 63 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Friday, February 1, 2013 at 10:00 am in the Stratford Chapel located at 2605 S. 15th E. in Salt Lake City.A viewing will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. in the Crandall Funeral Home in Evanston, Wyoming and at the church from 9:00 to 9:50 prior to the services.
