Karma Jean Allred MacKay1936-2013Karma Jean Christensen Allred MacKay, 76, Sandy, UT, died Wednesday January 30, 2013 in Salt Lake City, UT from complications due to a stroke. She was born on July 18, 1936 in Mayfield, UT to Clinton H. Christensen and Alice Whitlock. On October 7, 1955, Karma married her high school sweetheart, Glen Andrew Allred in the Manti, UT LDS Temple. Karma was Valedictorian at the LDS Business College in Salt Lake City, UT where she completed the Secretarial Science Degree. Karma worked for Jensen's Department Store, was a secretary for South Sanpete School District, and Carlisle Manufacturing Plant, worked as a Legal Secretary for the Sanpete County Attorney, and transcribed dictation for the District Court Reporter. She worked 36 years for the USDA/FmHA in Manti. She served in many community, civic, and educational endeavors and enjoyed attending all kinds of sporting events and traveling with Glen. Karma was an active member of the LDS church throughout her life serving in many capacities, including the Mormon Miracle Pageant Treasurer for 14 years. Her beloved husband Glen passed away on August 20, 1990. She married Keith P. MacKay, from Sandy, UT, on December 6, 1997. Karma and Keith served a mission for the LDS church for the construction and building of the Nauvoo, IL LDS Temple where Karma served as the Temple Project Office Manager. Karma and Keith enjoyed traveling and did so extensively. She is survived by her husband Keith P. MacKay and their cherished dog Katie, son Steve Allred (Sydney), daughter Kathy Haslam (Lew), grandchildren, Zachary Allred, Quinn Allred (Sarah), AnnMarie Allred, Christopher Haslam (Kimberly), and Alicia Nielson (Matthew), three great-grandchildren with a fourth on the way and her brother and sister-in-law Blaine and Dellene Allred. She is preceded in death by her husband Glen, brother Que Christensen, sister-in-law Elma Christensen, and her parents. Funeral Services will be Saturday, February 2, 2013, 10 am at the Lone Hollow Ward, 2195 E Pepperwood Drive, Sandy, UT. Friends may call Friday, February 1, 2013, 6-8 pm at the Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 E 10600 S, Sandy, UT and Saturday morning one hour prior to funeral services at the church. Friends may call in Manti, UT Saturday February 2, 2013, 3 pm at the Manti Tabernacle followed by a short service at 4 pm. Interment to follow at the Manti City Cemetery.
