Joan Spendlove Eades1951 ~ 2013Our loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, passed away January 3, 2013 after a brave and courageous battle with cancer.Joan was born September 15, 1951 in Cedar City, Utah to Duward and Clara Spendlove. She grew up in the small town of Virgin with all of her family and cousins. Joan was ecstatic when they got indoor plumbing at the age of nine! She graduated from Hurricane High School in 1969, after which she moved to Salt Lake to become a nurse. Joan was a devoted nurse for over 40 years. She worked at LDS Hospital then moved into the home-healthcare field currently with Haven Home Health, still seeing her patients until two weeks ago. Her love for her patients and her family are what kept her going for the last four years. She married Ronald S. Eades, April 1, 1985. Joan was the rock of our family she held us together. She adored her children and grandchildren and set an example of love to each of them.She is survived by her loving husband; children, Racheal (Steven) Thompson, Sara (Matthew) Hooper, Benjamin (Rena) Johnson; eight grandchildren; a great-grandson; sisters, Donna (Jay) Iverson, Rae (Gene) Bagley, Julie (Peter) Blake; sister-in-law, Thelora Spendlove; mother-in-law, Fern Eades and brother-in-law, Jimmy Eades.Preceded in death by her parents and brother, Ronald Spendlove.Funeral services will be held Friday, January 11th, 12:00 p.m. at the Westland 7th Ward, 7115 So. 3200 W. West Jordan. A viewing will be held Thursday evening from 6 8 p.m. at Redwood Memorial Mortuary, 6500 So. Redwood Rd. and from 10:30 11:30 a.m. prior to services on Friday.
