Clarence Guy Walker1920 ~ 2013Clarence Guy Walker 93, passed away in his sleep at home in Salt Lake City, on Friday, October 11, 2013. Born in Toronto, Canada on September 8, 1920 to Albert and Mary Walker they moved the family including his brother Durrant (DG) to Salt Lake City in 1928. Clarence lived most of his life in Sugar House.Clarence was a dedicated member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints which he served throughout his life. He was a missionary in the Texas-Louisiana mission, served in the Lincoln Ward bishopric and as Bishop. In Granite Stake he served on the High Council, as Stake President and Patriarch.Clarence was a businessman. He started the Walker Sandwich Company, owned Magic Chemical Company for over 30 years and was a partner with two sons in the Clarence G. Walker Family Partnership. He was a member of ISSA for 50 years and active in the Sugar House Rotary for many years.Clarence was a passionate traveler. He introduced new foods to family gatherings. He enjoyed walks in Sugar House Park in all weather. He enjoyed visits to his vacation home in St. George.Clarence married Beverly Brooks in 1944 and they were the parents of five distinctive children; Stephen Brooks (Jayne), John Phillip (Renae), Clarence Guy Walker II (deceased), Robert Charles (Lek) and Marianne (Kirk) Hoffman. Beverly and Clarence had twelve grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. After Beverly passed away he married Cindie Ercanbrack.Clarence's children will host a private memorial for the family.
