David Edward Gonzales"Duggie"David (Duggie) Edward Gonzales, 83, completed his journey on earth on October 13, 2013 after declining health. He was born in Copperfield, Utah on March 25, 1930 to Guadalupe and Tomas Gonzales. He grew up in the Copperfield-Bingham area and excelled in sports, especially football.He served his country during the Korean conflict. Shortly after his marriage to Amy Miya in 1956, they moved to South Jordan, where he felt he truly found his home. He found much pleasure in farming, construction and tractor work; bowling, hunting and fishing were his favorite pastimes.He is survived by his wife, Amy; and six children, Rory (Cathy), Gregory (Debbie), Lisa, Jaren, Duffy (Jodi), and Cara. He has eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters and brothers, Anna Montoya, Georgia Gonzales, Beatrice (Elifas) Fresquez, Mike (Linda) Gonzales, Louis (Shirley) Gonzales, Connie Ochoa, Gene (Judith) Gonzales, and Ross (Claire) Gonzales; and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, Oct. 19, 2013 from 1-4 p.m. in the hall at St. Therese Catholic Church, 624 W.
