Marilyn K. Winder1928-2013Marilyn Kasteler Winder passed away peacefully October 12, 2013. She was born June 23, 1928 in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Orson Walter Kasteler and Viola Peterson Kasteler. She graduated from East High School and attended the University of Utah. She was affiliated with Alpha Chi Omega Sorority.Marilyn married Quentin Cannon (Pete) Winder on September 7, 1948 in the Salt Lake Temple. She was an active member of the LDS Church. She served on the Primary General Board and in many positions in her stake and ward Relief Society, Young Women and Primary. She was a hostess at the Beehive House, a volunteer for LDS Social Services and served many years as a Family History church service missionary. She was active in PTA and served on the Pioneer Valley Hospital Board of Trustees.Marilyn loved to sew, do needlework and travel with her family. She and Pete visited over 50 countries around the world.She is survived by her children and their spouses, Carolyn (Larry) Bunkall, John (Arliss Handy), Judy (Robin) Reese, Jerry (Stacie McDermott) and Peter (Carie McDermott); 25 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and 2 brothers, O. Wallace (Marilyn) Kasteler and Rodger (Emma Lou) Kasteler. She was preceded in death by her loving husband and parents.Funeral Services will be held Monday, October 21, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Valley Park 6th Ward, 5233 South 3200 West, Taylorsville. Friends may visit with the family on Sunday, October 20, 2013 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Valley View Funeral Home, 4335 West 4100 South, West Valley City; and from 9:30 until 10:30 a.m. prior to the service on Monday at the ward. Interment: Valley View Memorial Park.
