TAYLORSVILLE — A fire left at least two units in an apartment building temporarily uninhabitable Monday.
Four agencies responded when a resident from one of the units returned home from school about 4:45 p.m. and was hit by a wave of heat upon opening the door, said Unified Fire Battalion Chief Brian Anderton.
The resident shut the door, and when crews arrived at the building, 5721 Hillwood Way, they found smoke filling the unit and flames inside, Anderton said. Residents were evacuated, and the fire was extinguished quickly.
No damage estimates were available Monday, Anderton reported, adding that a small area of the roof had collapsed.
