I agree with the changing of the legal blood-alcohol content level from 0.08 percent to 0.05 percent. By reducing the amount of alcohol one consumes, the probability of someone being involved in a DUI is much lower, especially during the holiday months. However, like it said in the article ("Reduce DUI limit," Oct. 16), the rising number of DUIs in Utah may be a fluke.
There could have been a population increase this year, or it could be people are not being careful on how much alcohol they and their companions are consuming. Overall, lowering the level brings less concern to people's safety. They won't be able to drink as much as they like, but if it saves more lives than in previous years, it would be for the better.
