Donald George Mitchell1929 ~ 2013Donald George Mitchell, age 84, entered into rest surrounded by his loving family on October 22, 2013 in West Valley City, Utah.He was born September 18, 1929 in Ogden, Utah to Donald J. Mitchell and Florence (Biddy) Mitchell. He served in the U.S. Army in the Korean War as a Chemist.He earned several degrees related to education; from BYU he earned a Chemistry Degree; a Masters Degree in Physics from the U of U; and a PHD in Education from the University of Wisconsin Superior. He worked for the State of Utah in the Health Department for 35 years.He loved working with the youth in all stages of his life. He was a High School Teacher, a Scout Leader, and he taught Hunter Education.He will always be remembered for the love he had for life, his family and he will be dearly missed. He is survived by his loving wife, Marie; children, Christine (Todd) Nunley, Michael (Melody) Mitchell, James Mitchell, Mary Ann (Ron) Pierce, Becky (David) Pratt and Daniel Mitchell. Preceded in death by his parents, sister, Caroline (Susie) Hutchinson, and brother, Richard Mitchell.Funeral Services for Donald will be held Friday, October 25, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the L.D.S. Chapel located at 5067 Janette Avenue. The family will receive friends at a visitation from 9:30 until 10:45 a.m. prior to the service. Interment: Redwood Memorial Estates.
