Kenneth T. Jones 1920 - 2013Kenneth Thomas Jones passed away on October 23, 2013 in Draper, UT. He was born January 23, 1920 in New York City to Oscar Thomas and Marie Alice Seaves Jones. He married Alda Everett Anderson in 1961.Kenneth served bravely in World War II in the Pacific. After the war he joined the New York City police department, where he continued to serve and protect, and advanced through the ranks to become Deputy Inspector by the time of his retirement in 1965. After relocating to the Florida sunshine, that he loved so much, he became Chief of Police in the Town of Lantana and later Highland Beach. After finally retiring for good, he took up sailing with the Old Men in the Sea, in New Smyrna Beach, Fla, and often said those were some of his happiest memories. He and Alda eventually relocated to Draper, UT to live with his family here, where he enjoyed the company of the staff and seniors at the Draper Seniors Center.He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather and will be greatly missed.Survived by his daughter Janifer Gerday and his three grandchildren Emily, Alexandra and Lance. Preceded in death by his wife, Alda.Graveside services will be held at 11:30am on Monday, October 28, 2013 at the Utah Veterans Memorial Park, 17111 Camp Williams Road in Bluffdale.
