WEST JORDAN — Pumpkins in varying forms were primped, paraded, squashed and devoured Saturday, as families gathered to celebrate the advent of Halloween this week.
The Salt Lake County Library Services Veridian Event Center hosted its first Pumkinpalooza, hoping to make it a long-standing tradition for years to come. All things pumpkin, including a pumpkin-decorating contest, pumpkin pie-eating contest, pumpkin arts and crafts, and pumpkin chucking gave attendees — some of whom were in costume — plenty to do.
The event aimed to inspire community togetherness, as well as provide families with wholesome entertainment to bring in the popular fall holiday.
