PARK CITY — A 40-year-old man was rescued from a trail off Rasmussen Road Sunday afternoon, but officials say he is in stable condition.
Rex Florendo, Park City Fire captain, said the man fell on the downhill side of the trail and had injuries to the rib area on his right side.
Florendo said the man was unable to walk so crews gave him basic life support, and brought him down from the trail on a trailer hooked to a four-wheeler.
He said the man "looked like he was able to walk down here after given some meds," and that he was transported to a nearby hospital as a precaution.
"I don't know what exactly caused the accident," Florendo said, adding that the man sounded like an experienced biker.
Florendo said the trail does get technical and urged bikers to have a plan to get help if it is needed.
"Just be careful," he said. "Know your limits, take it slow, nice and easy, and if you decide to go wild make sure that you are with another biker who can call of you and get help."
