JACKSON, Miss. — A federal judge has scheduled a change of plea hearing for a nurse charged with withholding information about a crime at a former south Mississippi cancer clinic that prosecutors say was involved in a multimillion-dollar fraud.
Courtney Michelle Young is scheduled to plead guilty Oct. 15 in U.S. District Court in Jackson.
Young and another nurse, Brittany Davis Powell, are charged with misprision of a felony.
Court records say they didn't report that the clinic's founder ordered nurses to make retroactive entries in patients' files.
Rose Cancer Center founder Dr. Meera Sachdeva was sentenced to 20 years in prison for her actions at the clinic in Summit.
Prosecutors say she submitted fraudulent claims for chemotherapy services and that syringes were re-used on multiple patients.
