John Sandor1925 ~ 2013John Sandor, age 87, of Salt Lake City, passed away on September 30, 2013, at the Salt Lake Regional Hospital of a sudden illness. John was born November 21, 1925, in Conemaugh, Pennsylvania, the youngest of four children, to Steven and Mary MItroha Sandor. He was married to Leatrice Darlene Pierce Sandor, on March 6, 1946. She passed away in 2001.John grew up and attended schools in Johnstown, Pennsylvania. John served in the United States Navy, during World War II, and was in the Naval Reserve for 20 years. He has resided in Sugar House for 61 years. He was employed at the Naval Supply Depot, as well as the Defense Contractors Administration, in Clearfield, until his retirement in 1978. John worked for the ABA, the NBA and the University of Utah as a statistician for over 35 years and was an active member of the Crimson Club. John was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying summers at Flaming Gorge, at the cabin he built in Manila, Utah. He was devoted to his family and will be greatly missed.John is survived by a sister Barbara, of Johnstown, Pennsylvania, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers Steven and Michael. A visitation for family and friends will be held at the Anderson Funeral Home at 94 West 300 North in Nephi, Utah, Friday October 4th at 3:00 p.m. Graveside services will be held immediately after at the Levan Town Cemetery.
