Wess Duane Mecham1925 ~ 2013Wess Duane Mecham passed away on October 25th, 2013 at the age of 88. He was living with his daughter Kathryn and Son-in-law Robert Tait of Phelan, Ca. He died from complications of Parkinson's Desease. He was born in Walsburg, Utah on February 16th, 1925 to George Fayette Mecham and Clara Mae Farlley. He was the brother of Norma May Mecham Smith, Mary Mecham, Lorna Mecham Backus and George Lamond Mecham. He was half brother to Arthur Fayette, Anmarie, Dean, Erma and Viola Mecham. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family and is also proceeded in death by his eternal companion LaRae Gammell Mecham and his wives Sarah LaRue Smith Shephard Hamilton Mecham, Jo Ellen Roberts Mecham, his two sons Wess Duane Jr and Rand Spencer Mecham.He is survived by his daughter Kathryn Mecham Tait, and his Son-in-law G Robert Tait, 9 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.Wess served in the Navy during WW2. He retired from Prudential Life Insurance Company. He lived in Provo, Springville, Salt Lake City, Beaver Dam Arizona and Bear Lake, Idaho.He will be remembered for his beautiful baritone voice, his skill and grace on the dance floor and his never ending repituar of jokes. He was the life of every party. He loved life and lived every day to it's fullest. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. The quote we heard most from him was "Happiness is an inside job" He leaves a great legacy for all of his posterity of how to truly find "Joy in the Journey".Funeral services will be held on Saturday November 2nd, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in the Anderson and Sons Mortuary Chapel, 49 East 100 North, American Fork, Utah.
