Frank E. Hansen1944 ~ 2013Our courageous husband, father and grandfather, Frank E. Hansen, passed away October 27, 2013, at the age of 69, due to post-surgical complications surrounded by family and friends. Frank was born in Southern California to R. John and Lois Hansen. He attended Granite High School in Salt Lake City and graduated in 1962. Following high school Frank served an LDS mission to Austria. Upon returning he was married to Elaine Hansen in the LDS Salt Lake Temple on June 28, 1966. He went on to earn a degree in business from the University of Utah. Frank had a true love of flying, joining the United States Air Force and flying jets until an unfortunate accident cut his career short. Nothing made Frank happier than talking about or spending time with his grandchildren, just ask any Harmon's checker. Frank also enjoyed movies and could provide the credit history of every actor or actress in a World War II or James Bond movie. Frank never missed little league games, school performances, or anything that was important to his children. He also taught them all things can be fixed with duct tape. Frank is preceded in death by his wife, Elaine, and his parentsR. John and Lois Hansen. Frank certainly is excited to be reunited with his wife in heaven. Hopefully heaven is fully stocked on Diet Coke, Red Vines, and Oreos for the both of them.Frank is survived by his two daughters Kimberly (Bryan) Nelson and Laurel (John) Porter, two sons Matthew (Stefanie) Hansen and Jacob (Stacey) Hansen, and his ten loved and cherished grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers, Stanley (Lorraine) and Ralph (Jaynie) Hansen. Funeral services will be held at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary on Saturday November 2, 2013 at 11:00 am with a visitation an hour before the service. Burial will follow at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to all of Frank's friends who supported him near the end.
