He attended American Fork High School and Rowland Hall-St. Mark's School, where Garrett pursued his love of learning, music, choirs, drums, playing his saxophone, and participating in jazz bands, sharing his sense of humor and love of life with everyone. Garrett earned the Eagle Scout award and fulfilled a two year mission to Riverside California from 1990 to 1992. He graduated from Weber State University in 1998, obtaining his bachelor's degree in computer science. At the time of his passing, he was employed with Xactware as a Systems Integration Networking Specialist.Garrett married Cheryl Stokes and had four beautiful children: Alissa (17), Jordan (15), Matthew (12) and Preston (10). Then July 22, 2005 he married Kristen Llewelyn who had three children: Ashli (17), Ciara (15) and Casey (14). Together they began the adventure of blending 7 children, then adding their son, Kyle (4), two dogs and lots of fish. Garrett loved camping and traveling with his family, reading, preparing and cooking food for his family, animals of every kind, hot wings and sushi, his spicy smoked food, friends, being in the mountains, loved sharing time with his neighbors and loved serving those in need. The family was very fortunate to be able to spend a lot of time together this past summer. They were able to enjoy the Oregon Coast, Bear Claw Valley, and Lake Tahoe, the "prettiest spot on earth" and his favorite place, together as a family. The family will cherish these memories forever.Garrett had a strong testimony in the gospel of Jesus Christ, saying "My testimony is BIG! ---I just know it is true". Garrett loved the downtrodden, because he knew their pain. He kept pictures of the Savior close, knowing he desperately needed Him. His greatest love was his wife, Kristen. He grew more in love with her each year they were married and loved her more the day he died than when he met her. He will always love her, and she will always love him. Garrett was known and loved by many friends, co-workers, neighbors, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and family and he will be deeply missed.
