Philomena A. Clawson1922 ~ 2013Our dear, much-loved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Philomena Clawson, passed away November 8, 2013 in Bountiful Utah. She was born to Clara and Frank Andrade in Honolulu, Hawaii on April 29, 1922. She was the oldest of 10 children.She met and married her eternal companion and best friend, John R. Clawson in the Laie Hawaii Temple in June of 1951 and then moved to Salt Lake City. She and John were blessed with four wonderful sons. Everything Philomena did was to honor her Father in Heaven. She was a faithful member of the LDS Church serving as a full time missionary twice, first in Japan and then again with her husband as Senior Missionaries on the Big Island of Hawaii in 2001. She was a temple ordinance worker in the Bountiful Utah Temple, and had many other callings where she served others and excelled in everything she was asked to do. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband John, sons Kim (Kit), Scott (Karen), Byron (Debbie), and Mark. She leaves behind 16 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law June, her parents, and 6 of her 9 siblings. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at the Avalon Care Center in Bountiful for her care.Funeral services will be held Friday, November 15th at 11:00 at the LDS Kimball Mill Ward, 650 South 200 East in Bountiful. A viewing will be held prior to the funeral from 10:00 to 10:45.
