Orson Charles Hofer1925 ~ 2013Orson Charles Hofer our loving Husband, Father & Grandfather passed away on November 11, 2013 in West Valley City. He was born February 5, 1925 in Blackfoot, Idaho to Albert & Magdelena Hunzinger Hofer. He later met and married the love of his life, Ramona Artella McBride, on June 20, 1950 in the Idaho Falls Temple.Orson loved the outdoors, hunting, and fishing. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints his whole life. He also served in the Army Air Corps during WWII. He served a mission to Sweden. He later retired from Kennecott after 20yrs as a boilermaker. He returned to Sweden to serve a second mission with his wife.Orson is survived by his wife, Ramona; children, Layne (Kathleen) Hofer, Shelley (Wayne) Poulson, Kurt (Becky) Hofer, Lynette (Larry) Ryan, Kyle (Melanie) Hofer; 29 Grandchildren and 35 Greatgrandchildren with 2 more on the way. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother & sisters; daughter, Jolyn; Grandaughter Jessica Lyn Ryan; and greatgrandson Colton Wayne Poulson.Funeral services will be held on Saturday November 16, 2013 at the Harvest Park Ward, 3680 S. 4265 W. West Valley City, UT. Friends and family may call at a visitation on Friday November 15, 2013 at Valley View Funeral Home, 4335 W. 4100 S. West Valley City, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to services at the church. Interment will be at Valley View Memorial Park. Condolences may be sent to the family @ www.valleyviewfuneral.com
