1A PLAYOFFS
Duchesne 42, Monument Valley 6: Duchesne rolled to a 45th consecutive victory Friday afternoon, easily dismantling Monument Valley in the 1A quarterfinal game. The Eagles moved forward on its quest for a fourth consecutive state football title.
Kanab 47, Milford 8: Jumping out to a 40-0 lead after the first half, Kanab cruised to a comfortable win at home. Merrill Terry threw three touchdowns, and rushed for another three to lead the Cowboys to the 1A semifinals.
Rich 26, Monticello 17 was the driving force behind the 1A quarterfinal victory for Rich. Jarman rushed for a pair of touchdowns, including a 70-yard sprint to open the scoring, and also threw for another Friday afternoon. Monticello briefly took a 17-13 lead after an Austin Maloy field goal, but Rich would rattle off 13 unanswered points to finish the game.
2A PLAYOFFS
Grand 27, South Sevier 20 Koi Cook and Cameron Taylor each rushed for a pair of touchdowns Friday night, and Grand survived a furious fourth quarter rally by South Sevier to advance to the 2A semifinals. The Red Devils defense came up big when it broke up a fourth-and-goal pass in the final minute.
Beaver 36, Parowan 10 Kasen Hutchins led Beaver with a pair of rushing scores, and the Beavers managed to outscore visiting Parowan 21-0 in the second half. Beaver managed to hold Parowan to just 84 yards rushing in the 2A quarterfinal victory.
South Summit 43, San Juan 0 Colby Averett took 13 carries for 75 yards with three touchdowns, while fellow running back Keyton Gines found the end zone twice to help South Summit in the shutout victory in the 2A quarterfinals. The Wildcats held San Juan to -6 rushing yards in the blowout.
3A PLAYOFFS
Judge Memorial 35, North Sanpete 0 Senior quarterback Kaden Elliss had a night to remember, tearing up the North Sanpete defense for three rushing touchdowns in Friday nights shutout victory at home. Fellow senior Henry Garcia found pay-dirt on a 53 yard sprint that would be the games final score.
Juab 28, Grantsville 21 Nick Robins was the saving grace for Juab, tossing three touchdowns in the narrow victory over visiting Grantsville. Grantsville rallied behind Wyatt Smith and his two touchdowns, but it was to little to late for the visitors.
Manti 35, Emery 14 The Templars jumped out to a 28-0 lead in the first half, and continued on to secure the victory over Emery. The Manti offense dominated, combining for 309 rushing yards, 110 of which belonged to Bradly Sego. Manti will advance to the 3A semifinals.
Morgan 32, Richfield 13 Trailing 13-12 at halftime, Morgan turned up the pressure defensively to hold Richfield scoreless in the second half of Friday's quarterfinal victory. Kade Carrigan was the workhorse for Morgan, garnering 125 yards rushing on 22 carries with the final two touchdowns. Richfield quarterback Brandon Willardsoncompleted just 13-of-27 passes with 181 yards and three interceptions in the loss.
3AA PLAYOFFS
Snow Canyon 38, Tooele 9 Zach Kennedy led all players in the stats box Friday after rushing for 142 yards and a touchdown, while also hauling in four catches for 95 yards and a TD for Snow Canyon. Warner Rigby completed 7-for-13 passes for 204 yards and two scores in the first round victory over Tooele.
Hurricane 38, Bear River 26 Jeremiah Ieremia took 24 carries for 95 yards with three touchdowns to lead Hurricane to the upset victory at Bear River. Cody Lebaron added 107 yards and a TD to the Tigers rushing attack. Bear River quarterback Jardee Nessen finished the game 13-for-28 with 305 yards and four TD's, but had three interceptions in the loss.
Cedar 23, Park City 13 The Redmen rallied for 14 points in the fourth quarter to come back from a 13-9 deficit and secure the road win over the Miners. Cedar will move on to the next round of the playoffs.
Desert Hills 40, Uintah 7 Desert Hills scored early and often, jumping out to a 27-7 lead in the first half, to earn the home victory over the Utes.Bridger Cowdin finished the night with a pair of rushing touchdowns, as the Thunder easily advance through the first round of the 3AA playoffs.
4A PLAYOFFS
Olympus 43, Springville 37 Coleman Meier led Olympus with five touchdowns Friday night, four of them on the ground, to lift Olympus over Springville on the road. Meier had a hand in all of the Titans scoring plays in the victory. Red Devils quarterback tossed three touchdowns and rushed for another in the loss.Logan 22, Bountiful 17 Despite losing star quarterback Chase Nelson, who was ejected in the first half, Logan managed to hold on down the stretch to defeat visiting Bountiful. Nelson did have a pair of rushing touchdowns before his ejection, which came after the QB was flagged twice for personal fouls in the end zone.
East 65, Roy 14 East completely dominated Roy in the blowout victory in the first round of the 4A playoffs. Isaac Valles threw a pair of touchdowns and rushed for another, whilePreston Curtis added three TDs to help East advance. The Leopards also returned three Roy interceptions for scores Friday night.
Corner Canyon 42, Spanish Fork 21 Corner Canyon quarterback Michael Ebeling had a fantastic day in leading first-year Corner Canyon into the 4A quarterfinals. The junior completed 13 of 19 passes for 286 yards and four touchdowns to lead the Chargers. Garrett Michaeli caught three passes for 125 yards and one touchdown, and defensively the Chargers harassed Spanish Fork quarterback all night with six sacks.
Woods Cross 42, Box Elder 14 In the one-sided affair, Woods Cross toppled visiting Box Elder to advance in the 4A playoffs. Xequille Harry was the driving force on both sides of the ball, returning one of two interceptions for six points while getting involved offensively by hauling in seven receptions for 144 yards with two TDs.
Salem Hills 35, Orem 14 Chad Peterson led Salem Hills with his four passing touchdowns, as the visitors rumbled to a big first round victory over Orem. Cooper Smith opened the scoring for the SkyHawks with a pick-six, and Peterson connected with four different receivers for touchdowns in Friday night's win. Tucker Camp found Nolan Gray for both Orem TDs in the loss.
Timpview 62, Timpanogos 14 Kainoa Tu'ua had a pair of rushing touchdowns, and took a 30-yard interception back for six points in the blowout win over Timpanogos. Pio Stowers also returned a interception for a score, and Timpview rallied for 35 points in the second quarter bury the visiting Timberwolves.
Sky View 27, Highland 14 Braxton Godderidge completed 23-of-35 passes Friday afternoon, finishing the game with 229 yards passing and three passing touchdowns in the first round playoff victory over Highland. Jamahl Greer brought Highland within three points in the third quarter, but the Bobcats shutout the Rams in the fourth quarter to secure the win.
5A PLAYOFFS
Brighton 42, Cottonwood 15 Chandler Gee opened the scoring for Brighton with a 49-yard interception return that pretty much set the vibe for the rest of the night. Osa Masina and Jesse Thompson led the Bengals rushing attack with a combined four touchdowns, and Thompson also hauled in a TD reception during the lopsided first round victory.
Herriman 44, Layton 33 Brandon Farmer put Herriman up early with three first half rushing touchdowns, and the Mustangs fended off a Layton rally to advance in the 5A playoffs. Brayden Kener finished the night with two rushing scores, and a passing TD in the Herriman win at home.
Pleasant Grove 22, Davis 15 Pleasant Grove defied all the odds to upset top ranked Davis in the first round of the 5A playoffs. TJ Wind put the Vikings up 14-0 with a pair of rushing scores, and that scoreline would hold until Davis got things together in the fourth quarter. The Darts took a brief 15-14 lead in the fourth, but a TJ Wind rushing score with under a minute left shattered the Darts quest for the state title.
Jordan 56, Hunter 28 Hunter kept it close for one quarter, but Jordan turned up the pressure to bury the Wolverines on their own turf. Austin Kafentzis scrambled for three rushing touchdowns, and also threw a trio of TDs to lead the Beetdiggers to a first round victory. Mason Krueger hauled in a pair of TD receptions, while Clay Moss earned a pair of scores on the ground for Jordan.
Alta 49, Taylorsville 21 Mack Richards opened the game with a 95-yard yard kickoff return, as Alta opened the flood gates to defeat Taylorsville in the first round of the 5A playoffs. Richards finished with three scores, including a 86-yard punt return. Amosa Wong hauled in a pair of TD receptions in the Warriors loss.
Lone Peak 21, Syracuse 13 Baron Gajkowski torched the Syracuse defense Friday night, finding the end zone twice with his feet in the somewhat narrow victory at Syracuse. Chase Armstrong all but secured the Knights victory with a 47 yard interception return that completely shook Syracuse.
Bingham 41, West 10 Kyle Gearig again had another stellar night, as Bingham trounced visiting West to advance in the 5A playoffs. Gearig threw four touchdowns, and rushed for another to keep the Miners undefeated streak alive at 11-0. Landen Measomhauled in three TD receptions in the lopsided win.
Riverton 31, Northridge 14 Paden Cayias and Cameron Christenseneach scored twice for Riverton, and combined for 28 carries and 205 yards in the home win over Northridge. The Silverwolves intercepted four passes during the game, and will move on to the next round in the 5A playoffs.

3A PLAYOFFS
PAYSON DEF. BEAR RIVER 26:24, 25:14, 23:25, 25:21, The Lions earn a first-round win in the 3A state tournament. The win means the Lions will take on Desert Hills at noon, while the loss sends the Bears to consolation play.
DESERT HILLS DEF. PARK CITY 25:12, 25:16, 25:18 The top-ranked Thunder swept the Miners in the first round of 3A action. The win means Desert Hills will take on Payson at noon.
MORGAN DEF. DIXIE 25:15, 25:21, 22:25, 25:20, The second-ranked Trojans advanced in the first round of the 3A state tournament. The win means they face Stansbury at noon. The loss sends the Flyers to consolation play.
STANSBURY DEF. CARBON 17:25, 25:20, 18:25, 25:14, 15:13 Stansbury won the only five-set match of the 3A tournament's first round Friday. The win means Stansbury moves on to the quarterfinals where the team will meet Morgan at noon. The loss sends the Dinos to consolation play.
SNOW CANYON DEF. UINTAH 25:14, 25:20, 25:20 The Warriors swept Uintah for a first-round 3A tournament win. The victory means the warriors will take on North Sanpete at 1:30 p.m.
NORTH SANPETE DEF. GRANTSVILLE 25:14, 25:13, 25:16 The Hawks swept the Cowboys in the first round of 3A action Friday. The win means North Sanpete will face Snow Canyon at noon.
TOOELE DEF. JUAB 25:23, 25:18, 25:20 The third-ranked Buffaloes swept the Wasps for a first-round tournament win. The team was led by junior outside hitter Brin Stewart's six kills, while Shandra Olsen added nine digs, three kills and three aces. The win means Tooele will take on fourth-ranked Hurricane at 1:30 p.m.
HURRICANE DEF. UNION 25:14, 25:15, 25:14 The fourth-ranked Tigers swept the Cougars for a first-round tournament win. The team will take on Tooele at 1:30 in the quarterfinals.
DESERT HILLS DEF. PAYSON 25:14, 25:12, 25:12 The Thunder earned a quick quarterfinal win that allows the top-ranked team to play No. 2 Morgan in Saturday's semifinal.
MORGAN DEF. STANSBURY 25:9, 25:16, 25:11 The Trojans swept Stansbury in the 3A quarterfinals to advance to Saturday's semifinal match against Desert Hills.
PARK CITY DEF. BEAR RIVER 25:16, 25:17, 25:21 The Miners advanced in the sixth-eighth place bracket. The loss eliminated the Bears.
DIXIE DEF. CARBON 25:17, 25:18, 25:8 The Flyers advanced in the sixth-eighth place bracket, while the loss eliminated the Dinos.

HURRICANE DEF. TOOELE 25:13, 25:14, 25:11 The fourth-ranked Tigers swept the third-ranked Buffalo in the 3A volleyball quarterfinals Friday. The win means Hurricane will play Snow Canyon in Saturday's 12:30 p.m. semifinal.
