Miriam H. Colton1923-2013Salt Lake City, UTMiriam Horman Colton passed away peacefully Oct. 30, 2013, in Salt Lake City, Utah. Born Aug. 8, 1923, in Salt Lake City to Gilbert and Lucy Horman. She married Elmo S. Colton April 23, 1943 in the Salt Lake Temple. They celebrated 70 years of marriage earlier this year. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, hostess, friend and was known as the "best cookie maker in the world". Her favorite church calling was Dance Director and she could still do the Balboa in her later years. All who came to her home knew she loved them. Her legacy will be her words "You know I love you," engraved on each of our hearts. She is survived by her husband, Elmo, children Gary (Sandy) Colton, Geoff (Marilyn) Colton, Brent (Carma) Colton, Patricia (George) Hansen, and Janelle (Mark) McOmie, and 27 grandchildren, 68 great grandchildren, and her brothers, Lorry, Jerry, and Frank Horman. Funeral services will be held Nov.4, 2013 at Olympus 8th Ward, 2675 East 4500 South at 11 a.m. Friends may call Nov. 3 from 6-8p.m. at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary and at the church from 9:30-10:30 a.m. prior to services. Interment at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
