Robert Lawrence Jensen1939 ~ 2013Robert Lawrence Jensen, 74, passed away on November 2, 2013. He was at home surrounded by the people he loved.Bob was born in Murray, Utah on Sept. 26, 1939 to Lawrence Henry Jensen and Isabelle Reading. He graduated from Jordan High School in 1958 and attended the University of Utah where he joined the ROTC. After 2 years at the "U", Bob joined the Utah National Guard. He was first stationed at Fort Ord, CA and was called to active duty during the Berlin Crisis in 1961 and was stationed in Fort Lewis, WA.Bob married Dianne Mumford in the Salt Lake Temple on Oct. 12, 1961. He was an excellent salesman for M & M Meat Company, which he co-owned with his brother-in-law Bryan Mumford.Upon retiring from M & M Meat, Bob formed Robert Jensen Meat Distribution lnc. which he successfully ran for 11 years, making many treasured friends.He loved his family, friends, yard work, beautiful roses, the Jazz, the Utes and his lifetime passion and hobby of model railroading. With the help of his railroad buddies, he built an amazing garden railroad in his backyard.He will be greatly missed and fondly remembered every day.Bob is survived by his wife of 52 years, Dianne (Mumford), Daughters Jennifer Anne (R. Dirk) Jager and Julianne (C. Mark) Shumway, Sisters Janice (Robert D.) Crofts, Doris (David K.) Forbes, Mary (Richard M.) Lambert and 2 Grandchildren Samantha and Alexandra. Preceded in death by his parents, in-laws and grandparents.A viewing will be held Saturday Nov. 9th from 10- 11:45 am at the Midvale 6th Ward (8171 S. Jackson Street, Midvale, UT) followed by the funeral at 12 Noon. Interment will be at Larkin Sunset Gardens (1940 E. Dimple Dell Rd. Sandy, UT). www.goffmortuary.com
