SANDY — Sixteen-year-old Faith Jacoway spent the past few months growing her hair out long enough that it could be donated to other children who might need it more than she does.
Jacoway, who has Turner syndrome, has a goal to send her dark brown lengths to Locks of Love, a nonprofit organization based in Florida that creates hair prosthetics for children under age 21 who suffer from long-term medical hair loss.
She was happy Saturday to have it cut by cosmetologist Kelli Christensen, who delighted in Jacoway's giving nature. Jacoway, whose condition results in a missing sex chromosome, plans to send her labor of love to the organization in hopes of helping someone who has suffered from alopecia, cancer or other disorder, accident or injury.
