Obituary: SARGENT, RAY

Ray LaMont SargentNov. 19, 1927 ~ Dec. 15, 2013Bountiful, UTRay L. Sargent passed away on Sunday, December 15, 2013 in Bountiful, Utah at the age of 86.He was born November 19, 1927 in Magna, Utah; the fifth child of David James and Lucile Carpenter Sargent. Grew up in Hoytsville, Utah. Graduate of North Summit High School and University of Utah. Married Lois Larsen on January 31, 1952 in the Logan LDS Temple. Faithful, active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Served as Bishop, Counselor in Stake Presidency and many other callings. Served missions to Central States, Stake Missions, Family History Department, and Africa Area Office. Ordinance Worker in the Salt Lake and St. George Temples. Veteran of U.S. Army. Retired from Utah Department of Employment Security. Survived by wife, Lois; son, Austin (Elaine); daughters; Becky and Nancy; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren, brother, Norman Sargent and sister, Donna S. Keyes. Preceded in death by twin children, Michael and Michelle; brother, Glen W. Sargent and sister, Myrl S. Vernon and parents.In lieu of flowers, suggest donations to LDS Church Humanitarian Fund.Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 20, 2013 at 12 Noon at Gillies Funeral Chapel, 634 East 200 South, Brigham City, UT.
