Obituary: CROSLAND, HENRY

Henry S "Hank" Crosland05/16/1926 ~ 12/18/2013Fillmore, UTGrandpa HankWith the passing of Henry S (Hank) Crosland on December 18, 2013 at his home in Fillmore, UT a golden heart stopped beating and hard working hands are at rest. Hank was born May 16, 1926 to Ben and Ida Crosland of Holden, UT. He married Dawn Jorgensen June 8, 1951 . Their marriage was solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple on July 20, 1957. They were parents of three girls. Hank had a profound respect for the freedoms of his country and proudly served in the US Army during the Korean War. Hank loved his family and always felt they were his greatest treasure. His second love was his Heavenly Father and he showed that love by serving others. Together Hank and Dawn served as ordinance workers in the Manti Temple. They also served 4 missions: Cove Fort Visitors Center, Bangalore India- proselytizing, Manila Philippines Temple and Bangalore India-humanitarian. While preparing to serve their 5th mission Hank's heart problems became apparent. He loved horses and his happiest moments were with his family sharing the enjoyment he got from his horses. If there are horses in heaven Hank is petting them today. He spent the last 18 years of his working career in Huntington where he set up a second home for he and his horses. While there he developed lifelong friendships. Hank's legacy is in the way he lived his life. He was a hero to his family and a good friend to many. He lived by example and never asked anything of someone he wasn't willing to do himself. We will forever value his contributions to our lives. Hank is survived by his wife, Dawn Crosland of 62 years. His three girls, DiAnn (Bryce) Porter, Provo, UT; DeAnn (Doran) Fox, Omaha, NE; Dana (Roy) Muranaka, St. George, UT; 11 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; brothers, Rex (Phyllis) Crosland; Phil (Toots) Crosland; and Bryant (Marlene) Crosland, Fillmore, UT; sister-in-law, LaRae Vandivere.
