WEST VALLEY CITY — Police were looking Thursday for three men who robbed a convenience store and assaulted the clerk.

The men walked into a 7-Eleven, 2321 S. Redwood Road, about 3:40 a.m. Thursday and took beer, cigarettes and cash, said West Valley Police Sgt. Jason Hauer.

A female clerk reportedly did not attempt to intervene with the robbery, but at least one of the men punched her multiple times, according to police. She suffered bruises, a cut and swelling, Hauer said. She was treated and released at the scene by paramedics.

Investigators were checking store surveillance video for possible leads. Anyone with information can call police at 801-840-4000.
