Gay Robinson Dunn1936 ~ 2013On December 24, 2013 our angel mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend passed away peacefully surrounded by her family. After 77 wonderful years on this earth, she joined her beautiful daughter and eternal companion just in time for his birthday on Christmas day.Gay was born in Murray, Utah on May 17, 1936 to Marion Morris Robinson and Ethel Marie Taylor Robinson. She married Robert Vern Dunn in the Salt Lake Temple on June 19, 1958. They lived in Midvale and Roosevelt in the early years of their marriage before settling in Sandy, Utah in 1966 where they raised their three children. Gay loved her years growing up in Murray and attending Murray High School where she served as Student Body Vice President. Her friendships made throughout her childhood have lasted a lifetime, brought her immense joy and are a testament to the type of person she was. She later worked as a secretary in the Jordan School District, serving briefly in the District offices, but spending most of her career in elementary schools, which she loved. Several dear friendships also resulted from her career associations.Gay was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints throughout her life and she served faithfully in Primary, Sunday School, Young Women and Relief Society. She also enjoyed serving in the Jordan River Temple for several years after Robert's passing. Her love of the Savior and testimony of the Gospel could be seen and felt through the way she lived her life. Gay considered her relationships with friends and family to be her greatest treasures. She adored her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and taught them by example how to love and serve each other. Nothing was more important to Gay than family and she tirelessly nurtured and served them. She always wanted to be with them and they with her. Even amidst the trials of unexpectedly losing her sweetheart, then her daughter just four days later, and having to endure her own significant health challenges, her concern was always for the wellbeing of her children and their families, not for herself. She did not dwell on her own problems and she was not one to complain. She lived life cheerfully and with a deep sense of gratitude for the blessings in her life. She loved and served all whom she knew and was loved by all who knew her. Gay is survived by her daughter, Shawn Simons (Brad); son, John Dunn (Cessalea); son-in-law, Scott Frame (Jackie); sister, Beverly Stout; brothers, Richard Robinson (Bobbie) and Calvin Robinson (Colleen); 14 grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert; and daughter, Stacie Frame.Funeral Services will be held Monday, December 30, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. in the Hillcrest 3rd Ward Chapel, 1165 East 8600 South, in Sandy, Utah.
