Ronald Edward Kidd1947 ~ 2013Ronald Edward Kidd, age 66, passed away December 23, 2013 in Salt Lake City. He was born May 12, 1947 in Salt Lake City to James Edward and Dorothy E. Mitchell Kidd.Ron served in the U.S. Air Force for 4 years as a T4 based in Denver Colorado. He later worked for and retired from the Salt Lake City Water Department. Ron was very family oriented and especially enjoyed spending time with his Dad and Mom and siblings discussing the challenges of our government and politicians. He also enjoyed watching sports and spending time at a number of sports bars and clubs with friends that he made over the years. Ron was a very private person who kept his personal affairs to himself. However, outside of spending time with family, we know Ron made donations to many charities, worked with Big Brothers and helped severely handicapped friends with things they needed. Ron was very generous and would always help out anyone he saw that was in need. Even in passing, Ron continued giving to others by donating his eyes and other tissues for educational purposes.Ron had a gentleness about him and a very kind heart. We will miss him. May God speed. He is survived by his father, James E. Kidd; sisters, Julia Spanton (Dale), LaRae Jacobsen, Claudia Breyer, Janet Mayo (Richard); brother, Randall E. Kidd, and many nieces and nephews and special aunts and uncles. Preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy E. Kidd, and brother-in-law, John M. Jacobsen. The family would like to say a special thanks to all of the wonderful people at the V.A. Hospital who cared for Ron with such professionalism and great kindness, especially all of those in the MIC Unit. Thank you.In lieu of sending flowers, the family is asking that you please consider making a donation to the V.A. Hospital or Utah Diabetes Foundation in the name of Ron Kidd.Memorial services will be held Saturday, December 28th, 2:30 p.m. at Redwood Memorial Mortuary, 6500 So. Redwood Rd.
