Don Eugene Glaittli 1926 ~ 2013Donald Eugene Glaittli passed away on December 26, 2013 surrounded by his family. Born on June 13, 1926. Don spent his life in the service of others. After graduating from West High School in Salt Lake City, Don served in WWII in the Navy for 2 years on the U.S.S Bosque, APA 135. Don married his sweetheart, Blanche Graham, On April 29, 1951 and was a loving and devoted husband for 62 years. Don and Blanche were later sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple on June 28, 1962 with their children. Deon always provided well for his family, working for over 30 years at Sears in Salt Lake City. An avid fisherman, he spent many summers with his family in Flaming Gorge, Utah. Raising his family next to his two brothers and their families, Don set an example of Christian like service. After retiring from Sears, Don joined his sons working with them in various business ventures. Don served actively as a Latter-day Saint, fulfilling any calling he was asked to do. He served as a beloved Scoutmaster for five years, earning the nickname "Smiley". He was always in the service of others. Don had many friends, and was loved and respected by many. He will be greatly missed. Don is survived by his wife Blanche Graham Glaittli, children Bryan D. Glaittli, Gary M. (Kristen) Glaittli, Shauna G. (Jeffrey) Turner, and Jeff G. (Penny) Glaittli. Siblings George Glaittli, Ray Glaittli. 21 Grandchildren and 11 Great- Grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his sister, Dorothy Glaittli Homer and grandson Joseph Glaittli. Services will be December 30, 2013 at 12:00 Noon at Olympus 1st Ward, 4100 South Camille Drive, Holladay, Utah. The family will receive friends December 30, 2013 from 10:00 AM 11:45 AM at the Olympus 1st Ward 4100 South Camille Drive, Holladay Utah. Interment will be held at the Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
