OREM, Utah — For the second consecutive meet, the Utah Valley University men's and women's track teams will stay close to home when they participate in the Utah Spring Classic on Friday in Salt Lake City and the Wildcat Outdoor Invitational on Saturday in Ogden.

The Wolverines haven't competed since the UVU Intercollegiate two weeks ago.

"It was a good time to have the week off," UVU track and field coach Scott Houle said. "We're in competitive mode. We're ready to go."

Action at the McCarthy Family Track and Field in Salt Lake City gets underway at 2 p.m. with field events and 5 p.m. for running events.

On Saturday, field events get underway at 10 a.m. at Stewart Stadium and running events get underway at 1 p.m.

At the UVU Collegiate, the Wolverines posted seven first-place finishes Friday in the 3rd Annual UVU Collegiate at the Hal Wing Track & Field.

In addition, the Wolverines added six second-place finishes against competitors from Southern Utah, BYU, Utah, Weber State, Utah State, Westminster College, Boise State, Idaho State and Colorado-Mesa.
