Frank Wesley Wonnacott"Wes"Salt Lake City, UTFrank Wesley Wonnacott, 92, was reunited with his beloved wife of 64 years on April 10, 2013. He was born on April 13, 1920 to Frank William and Pearl Branch Wonnacott in Salt Lake City, Utah. Wes graduated from West High School. He served in WWII in the 27th Infantry in the US Army from October 16, 1941 to October 16, 1945. He married Lorraine Gregory on June 13, 1946 in the Salt Lake Temple. They had four children: Brent, Julie, Marsha, and Richard.Wes was a faithful member of the LDS Church, serving as Bishop and a counselor to 4 other Bishops. Wes loved gardening and growing flowers. He had the most beautiful yard in the neighborhood. He loved birds of all types, especially homing pigeons. He actively participated in racing pigeon competitions for over 60 years. Wes owned and operated a service station for 35 years. After retiring, he worked part time for Quality Flowers.He was a wonderful example to his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Wes was a devoted friend to many and gave countless hours of service.He is survived by his children: Brent (Connie) Wonnacott, Julie (Scott) Bringhurst, Marsha (Larry) Nielsen, and Richard (Tammy) Wonnacott, 15 grandchildren, 19 7/8 great-grandchildren, brother William Wonnacott, sister Norma Wilcken (age 104), and his beloved dog, Maggie. He was a favorite uncle to many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his wife Lorraine, parents, and 4 siblings: Clarence, Afton, Ivy, and Vaughn. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at the VA Hospital especially Liz and Marci for their kind and loving care. Funeral services will be held at the Ridgedale Ward (3400 So. 1100 East) on Saturday, April 13, 2013 (His 93rd Birthday) at noon. There will be a viewing at the ward on Friday evening, from 6-8 p.m. and Saturday from 10:45 to 11:45 a.m. Interment will be at Mountain View Memorial, 3115 East 7800 South.
