Lucille Marie Grossen TaylorApril 14, 1927 ~ April 09, 2013ROY, UTLucille Marie Grossen Taylor, 85, passed away Tuesday, April 09, 2013 in Logan, Utah. She was born April 14, 1927 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Mae Linnell Decker and Louis Auer Grossen. Lucille married Robert Eldon Taylor on August 9, 1946 in Oakland, California and was later sealed to him in the Salt Lake City Temple on December 5, 1946. Just three months prior to their 50th anniversary, in May 1996, her sweetheart passed away.Lucille was raised in Salt Lake City and attended both South and East High Schools, graduating from East. She also attended the University of Utah and Weber State College. She was well known in her earlier years for her beautiful talents of singing, dancing, and music. She loved to play the clarinet and had been learning how to play the organ. Lucille loved to square dance. Every week you would see her getting dressed up for a night out of dancing.Lucille raised her family in Roy, Utah. She was an active member of the LDS church and held several callings throughout the years. And she was also a very proud member of the Utah Daughters of the Pioneers. Working in the accounting field, Lucille was employed as a civilian with Hill Air Force Base in the finance department. In their retirement years, Lucille and Bob had the opportunity to travel the entire United States in their Bounder Motorhome. They were proud to say that they had been to every state including a trip to Hawaii. Their final trip was to Alaska before Bob became ill in early 1996 in which they settled back down in Ogden, Utah.After a few years Lucille started to attended activities and dances with the local senior center. There she met Arie Doolhoff. They spent time together enjoying one another's company, dancing and playing ping pong. On June 19, 1999 they were married. Arie later passed away on March 14, 2007.Lucille was preceded in death by her parents and both husbands.She is survived by her son, James Eldon (Lisa) Taylor and their daughter, Courtney Marie Taylor, Nibley, Utah. A daughter, Joan Marie Taylor-Norman and son Justice Norman, Boulder City, Nevada. A step son, Daniel D. Doolhoff (Yvonne Short) and step daughter Diane (Brent) Pingree, both of Roy, Utah. She had 14 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. A sister, Mae Eleanor Vincent, Salt Lake City, Utah and many nieces and nephews.The family would like to express their thanks to the staff at Cache Valley Assisted Living, Logan Nursing and Rehab, Cache County emergency personnel, Logan Regional Hospital surgical care unit, and Dr. Jeffery Huffman.Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the Roy North 9th Ward building 2175 W. 4250 S. in Roy, Utah. A viewing will be held on Friday, April 12th at Myers Roy Mortuary, 5865 S. 1900 W. Roy from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday at the church from 9:40 to 10:40 a.m. prior to services. Interment, Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Rd., South Ogden, Utah. Send condolences to the family at
