Obituary: WEBB, REED

Reed Sylvester Webb1929-2013Bluffdale, UTReed passed away peacefully of complications due to cancer on April 12, 2013, at the home of his daughter Valerie. Born August 16, 1929, to Wilbert Marles Webb and Vina Naomi Larsen, Reed was the 5th of 8 children. Married Lorana Quohanna Atwood (Connie) on August 27, 1948, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Reed loved farming, his family, and his community, having lived in Bluffdale, Utah, his entire life. He was employed as a mechanic at Kennecott Copper, and as a school bus driver for Jordan School District. After retirement, he and Connie served two missions for the LDS Church, serving in the Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Nashville, Tennessee, missions. Reed was a kind and gentle man who is greatly loved and will be sorely missed by his family. Survived by the love of his life, his wife Connie, children Brinton (Paulla), Valerie (Hal) Wardle, Dana (Barbara), Teresa (William) Wellbaum, Ryan (Mitzi), adopted son Rudy (Jolene Lloyd) Mena, 21 grandchildren and 42 great grandchildren. Also survived by syblings Caroline (Ernie) Poulsen, Allen (Lila), Beverly (Gary) Hensley, and Tamara Mangrum. Preceeded in death by parents, syblings Wilbert and Naomi Webb, both killed in the 1938 school bus accident, brother Calvin, sisters-in-law Elva and Carol, and brother-in-law Jack Mangrum. Viewing will be held Friday, April 19, 2013, from 6 p.m to 8 p.m. at Broomhead Funeral Home, 12600 South 2200 West, Riverton, and Saturday, April 20, 2013, from 10 a.m. until 10:45 a.m., followed by funeral at 11 a.m. at the Bluffdale LDS Church House, 14400 South Camp Williams Road (1700 West). Internment Bluffdale City Cemetery.
