Ione Johnson Strother1.12.20-4.16.13Ione Johnson Strother was reunited with her beloved family on the evening of April 16, 2013. Born January 12, 1920 with her dear twin sister Claone Johnson Dyches to loving parents Ethel Davies Johnson and Howard Maine Johnson in Monroe, Utah. She is survived by her daughter Christine (Richard) Mackerell. Grandsons: Ryan (Kelli), Brad, Travis (Serena). Great-grandsons: Derek, David and Daniel. Brother: Monte (Toni) Davies. She was preceded in death by her beautiful sisters: Claone (Tom) Dyches, Vivian (Victor) Bowman, JaeNell (Harvey) Padley. She was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served as a Membership Locator for the Church. She graduated from L.D.S. Business College. She retired from Chevron after 35 years. She also worked for ZCMI in accounting for many years. She left a loving legacy and example for all that knew and loved her. She was an amazing seamstress and loved providing her family and friends with lovely additions to their wardrobe. She loved to spend time with her dear friends golfing and playing bridge. Her family always came first and she has left a huge void in their lives. Her beautiful smile, positive attitude and ability to nurture her loved ones throughout her life has provided many with a Christ-like example to follow. The family would like to express our gratitude to Kim and Annette of Canyon Hospice for their tender, loving care. A viewing will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2013 at 11:00am at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East 10600 South, Sandy, UT. A graveside service will follow at noon.
