High school sports: Thursday's roundup




DAVIS 3, WEBER 0: Gage Cook and Zac Fuller hit back-to-back homers in the third inning, and Fuller earned the win with 10 strikeouts and one walk in the shutout.

SYRACUSE 5, FREMONT 1: Spencer Johnson pitched a complete game, striking out 12 Fremont batters en route to the upset region victory. Kole Tracy hit a pair of doubles for the Titans.

LAYTON 14, NORTHRIDGE 2: Jaden Trujillo had two doubles and five RBIs in the blowout win over Northridge on the road.


TAYLORSVILLE 3, VIEWMONT 2: Taylorsville scored three runs in the seventh inning to get the win. Larenz Stansfield hit a double for the Warriors while Kyle Hoffman was the winning pitcher.

WEST 7, HUNTER 6: Austin Floisand hit a two-RBI double to tie the game, and then Josh Brown knocked in the winning run to take for West.

KEARNS 10, GRANGER 1: Jordan Smedley hit a two-run home run in the sixth inning to put the game away for Kearns. Nate Seltsam was the winning pitcher for the Cougars.


RIVERTON 9, BINGHAM 7: Riverton had a huge first inning, scoring seven runs in what proved to be the difference in its home victory. Jimi Dixon captured the victory on the mound for the Silverwolves.


MAPLE MOUNTAIN 3, MOUNTAIN VIEW 2: MaKay Nelson struck out 16 batters and only gave up one hit as he earned the complete-game victory. Nelson also had a two-RBI single in the fourth inning for the Golden Eagles.

SALEM HILLS 18, OREM 8: Luke Haney had a double, a triple, and a home run with three RBIs to help Salem Hills to victory. Teammate Conner Rollins added four RBIs to the SkyHawks' cause.

SPRINGVILLE 3, TIMPANOGOS 2: Parker Johnston pitched a complete game, giving up just two earned runs in a much-needed region victory at home.

PROVO 4, TIMPVIEW 2: Devin Johnson returned to the rotation from an injury and pitched 62/3 innings for his first win of the season. It was also Coach Moore's 200th win as a head coach for Provo.


UINTAH 10, JUAN DIEGO 0: Skyler Parker was great on the mound for Uintah, allowing just one hit in the win. Dalton Oldroyd had the only extra-base hit of the game with a double for the Utes.

WASATCH 10, UNION 1: Wasatch scored in six of the seven innings played as it picked up the road victory. Todd Ogilvie and Taggart Baxter each hit doubles for the Wasps while Kyle Kelly picked up the win on the mound.

PARK CITY 13, JUDGE MEMORIAL 5: Chandler Anderson went 3-for-3 with a double, triple and three RBIs, and also pitched the win on the mound to lift Park City to a sixth consecutive region win.


MORGAN 9, BEAR RIVER 7: Morgan scored two runs in extra innings to earn the road victory. Morgan led by five runs going into the sixth inning, where Bear River scored five runs to tie the game. Lantzen Toomer was the winning pitcher for the Trojans and he helped his own cause with a double.

GRANTSVILLE 26, BEN LOMOND 0: Grantsville's Skyler Cloward pitched a no-hitter as he led his team to the easy victory. The Cowboys had seven extra-base hits as they routed the visiting Scots.

OGDEN 5, TOOELE 4: Brian Saunders earned the win on the mound for Ogden as it narrowly defeated Tooele. The Tigers held onto a four-run lead in the ninth inning as the Buffaloes scored three runs in a furious rally.


SPANISH FORK 8, PAYSON 4: Brock Nelson had three RBIs while teammates Cooper Beck and Lincoln Rivera each added two more in the Dons' victory.

JUAB 8, DELTA 3: Juab got off to a hot start as it scored seven of its eight total runs in the first two innings, and held off Delta from there. Tanner Nelson was the winning pitcher for the Wasps and he helped himself with a double at the plate.


KANAB 14, MILFORD 5: Taylor Glover earned the win as the Cowboys capitalized on six Tiger errors.


ROWLAND HALL 11, NORTH SUMMIT 3: Rowland Hall had three players knock extra-base hits, including Scott Silverstein who also earned the win on the mound.


RICHFIELD 8, EMERY 5: Richfield scored six of its eight runs in the fifth and sixth innings to defeat Emery on the road. Jordan Christensen was the winning pitcher for the Wildcats while Ryan Rhinehart hit a double.


GUNNISON 14, SOUTH SEVIER 3: Colby Caldwell earned the victory on the mound, and Gunnison scored nine runs in the bottom of the third to take a commanding lead and ultimately the win.

MANTI 7, GRAND 0: Alvaro Cardenas netted the hat trick and Dillon Rasmussen earned the shut out as Manti rolled to another region victory.

WASATCH ACADEMY 9, RICHFIELD 1: Emrem Tanriover scored an astounding seven goals as Wasatch easily defeated Richfield on the road. Teammates Hassib Hussenzaida and Misha Zhukov each scored a goal as well for the Tigers.

GUNNISON 8, NORTH SEVIER 0: Connor Caldwell and Travis Carlisle each scored two goals for Gunnison as it easily defeated North Sevier. Carlin Johnson recorded the shutout in goal for the Bulldogs.


LAYTON CHRISTIAN 8, WEST RIDGE ACADEMY 1: Shadadi Musemakeli and Seung Hun Song each scored two goals and four other players scored for the Eagles to lead Layton Christians over West Ridge.

LEGACY PREP 6, MOUNT VERNON 0: Koshi Ukai led Legacy Prep's explosive offense with two goals and an assist while teammate Weston Huber had three assists. Josh Woolston was the winning goalie with the shutout for the Lions.


MAESER PREP 2, PAROWAN 1: Harrison Larsen and Dallin Brand each scored a goal for Maeser Prep as it eked out the victory.

AMERICAN LEADERSHIP 4, BEAVER 0: American Leadership showed consistency in its victory over Beaver as it scored two goals in each half. Cobi Warren scored two goals for the Eagles, who move to 11-1-0 with the win.

MERIT ACADEMY 4, MILLARD 0: Rodolfo Peralta recorded the shutout for Merit Academy as the visiting team pounded four goals into the back of the net for the region victory.


NORTHRIDGE 3, FREMONT 2: Parker Freitag scored the game-winning goal for the Knights in overtime. Despite trailing by one after the first half, Northridge scored two goals in the second half to send the game to overtime.

DAVIS 4, SYRACUSE 0: Davis scored four first half goals and cruised to victory from there. Mitch Parkinson scored two goals to lead the Darts while Taylor Bell earned the shutout in goal.

WEBER 1, LAYTON 0: Zachary Dixon assisted Jaden Bybee for the game's only goal, and the Weber defense held strong to preserve the region victory. Cody Albretsen recorded the shutout.


MAPLE MOUNTAIN 2, SALEM HILLS 0: Jared Clawson and Christian Tobler both had a goal for Maple Mountain, while Spencer Young recorded the shutout between the posts.

TIMPANOGOS 2, TIMPVIEW 1: Parker Richards scored the game winning goal in the second half to give the Timberwolves the comeback win over Timpview.

MOUNTAIN VIEW 1, SPRINGVILLE 0: Alec Woolley scored the game-winning goal for Mountain View off of an assist from Edgar Cordova. Ryan Zundell earned the shutout in goal for the Bruins.

OREM 3, PROVO 2: Daniel Corbett scored twice and Emil Cuello added a third goal to lead the TIgers on the road.


DIXIE 6, CANYON VIEW 0: Tristan Cowles recorded the shutout for Dixie, and six different players found the back of the net in a lopsided region win at home.


STANSBURY 4, MORGAN 1: Four different players scored goals for the Stallions.


OAKLEY 2, INTERMOUNTAIN CHRISTIAN 0: Kenny Evans and Hunter Lindquist each scored a goal for the Explorers in the win. ICS' Jamie Kerr had 20 saves in the loss.



SYRACUSE 8, FREMONT 7: Brittany Vasquez had a bases-loaded single to win the game in extra innings for Syracuse. The Titans scored five of their eight runs in the seventh and eighth innings.

DAVIS 8, LAYTON 1: Davis had doubles from Payton Yerke and Cheyne Moffitt to defeat Layton. Cheyanne Norton was the winning pitcher for the Darts.

WEBER 14, NORTHRIDGE 0: Hannah Charlton hit two doubles and a home run to drive in four runs for Weber. Teammate Johnni Arbon added had four RBIs for the Warriors.


TAYLORSVILLE 15, WEST 0: Karlee Jensen hit two doubles, and Maddie Cushing blasted a homer to lead the Warriors in region play.

KEARNS 7, GRANGER 1: Chelsea Derksen was the winning pitcher for Kearns, which held Granger to one run in its road victory. The Lancers Summer Judd was solid as she hit a double and a home run in the loss.

VIEWMONT 6, HUNTER 2: Caitlyn Larsen and Amanda Varley each hit homers as the Vikings remained perfect in region play.


COPPER HILLS 12, BRIGHTON 1: Payten Davies was great for Copper Hills as she only allowed for hits and earned the victory on the mound.


BONNEVILLE 11, SKY VIEW 3: Mykel Davis hit a home run and a double to lead the Lakers' offense over visiting Sky View.

BOX ELDER 10, ROY 0: Box Elder easily defeated Roy thanks to four extra-base hits, including a triple from Venessa Quintero. Teammate Abigayle Martin was the winning pitcher for the Bees, and she helped her own cause with a double.


CYPRUS 8, WOODS CROSS 5: Brooklyn Butcher smacked a pair of doubles, and Cyprus rallied for five runs in the second inning to cruise to the region victory.

BOUNTIFUL 11, CLEARFIELD 9: Bountiful barely defeated Clearfield on the road, thanks in large part to a solid offense that scored eight runs in the first two innings. Kristi DuBois hit a double and a home run for the Braves, while Belle Stoddard was the winning pitcher and helped her cause with a double.

EAST 22, HIGHLAND 4: Jeneece Kapuwai hit a walk-off grand slam home run in the bottom of the third to give the Leopards the win.


WESTLAKE 20, SKYLINE 4: The Thunder scored eight runs in the second inning to jump out to an early lead, and Sarah Petersen paced the Westlake defense with a win in the circle.

OLYMPUS 15, HILLCREST 0: Olympus had five extra-base hits, including a triple from Reagan Everett, as it routed Hillcrest. Haylee Eskelson was the winning pitcher for the Titans.


SALEM HILLS 5, MOUNTAIN VIEW 1: Kirtlyn Bohling struck out 13 batters in seven innings to lead Salem Hills past Mountain View in region play. Bohling also had a double in the winning effort.

PROVO 15, OREM 0: Taylor Allman smacked a double and earned the shutout victory, as the Bulldogs rolled in three innings.

MAPLE MOUNTAIN 9, SPRINGVILLE 8: Josey Hartman blasted two triples to lead the Golden Eagles at home.


PINE VIEW 10, HURRICANE 3: Keltee Shelley hit a home run to lead Pine View to victory. Kirsten Anderson was the winning pitcher for the Panthers.


UINTAH 14, PARK CITY 2: Amberlee Partridge smacked a home run and a double, as Uintah ralled for 14 run in the lopsided affair. Cassidy Chester struck out nine Uintah batters in the loss.


GRANTSVILLE 7, TOOELE 3: Whitney Fields belted a home run, and also picked up the win on the mound to help Grantsville earn the crucial region win on the road.


JUAB 5, NORTH SANPETE 1: Juab's Sam Mardiaga kept North Sanpete off balance for all seven innings, as she pitched a great game and earned the win. Teammate Taylor Miller went 2-for-3 and drove in two runs.

SPANISH FORK 18, CARBON 3: Spanish Fork took a commanding 12-1 lead heading into the second inning. They finished off the game scoring five runs in the fourth inning to extend the lead.


MILLARD 15, MILFORD 1: Kenlie Lemon hit two doubles and a triple as the Eagles won in the run-shortened contest.


SUMMIT ACADEMY 14, DUCHESNE 5: Tazia Wilson hit a double, CheyAnne Dahl earned the pitching victory, and the Bears scored five runs in both the first and sixth innings to cap a lopsided victory.

SOUTH SUMMIT 15, NORTH SUMMIT 0: South Summit blew out North Summit in four innings, scoring 15 runs on 10 hits. Brooke George hit the only extra base hit of the game. Natalie Nichols only allowed one hit.

ALTAMONT 15, ROWLAND HALL 1: McKayla Harrison hit a triple in addition to earning the win on the mound for Altamont. Fellow Longhorn McKelle Zeeman hit a double in the lopsided region victory.
