High school basketball: Boys all-star games this Saturday at West Jordan

WEST JORDAN — A bit later than normal, the Utah High School Coaches Association will hold its annual senior all-star basketball games at West Jordan High School this Saturday.

The games are traditionally held three to four weeks earlier, but the NCAA Tournament at EnergySolutions Arena last month and then varying school district spring breaks forced the coaches to push their games back several weeks.

This year, a fourth game was added to the all-star festivities, with the first game beginning at noon and the last at 6 p.m. Three of the four games are inter-classification all-star games.

The games will begin with the 1A All-Stars vs. 2A All-Stars at noon. The 3A All-Star Game at 2 p.m. will pit players from Regions 9 and 10 against players from Regions 11 and 12.

The 4A All-Star Game will tip off at 4 p.m., with players from Regions 5 and 6 squaring off against teams from Regions 7 and 8.

In the nightcap 5A All-Star Game, players from Regions 1 and 3 will face players from Regions 2 and 4.

The following are the rosters for all eight teams, as determined by the coaches. On most teams, several first-choice players had conflicts and couldn’t participate, so alternates were added to the rosters.
