Debra Anne Hellberg June 26, 1962 ~ March 29, 2013Debra Anne Hellberg ("aunt Deb") passed away on March 29, 2013. It is with heavy hearts, but happy memories, that we cast her ashes across a favorite fishing spot of hers, along with those of her beloved dog, "Tara." Debbie was born on June 26, 1962 to Gerald and Dione Hellberg in Salt Lake City. She loved everything about airplanes and spent her entire life in the aviation industry. Starting at a family-owned business, Thompson Flying Service, she later worked in key roles at Barken International and other jet charter companies, before moving on to TSA and eventually the Salt Lake Airport Authority, where she truly loved her job managing wildlife, directing snowplows, checking runways, and aiding wayward pilots. A licensed private pilot herself, she was also an accomplished airplane mechanic. Debbie loved animals, especially dogs and horses, and loved to fish. She leaves behind her parents, brother David (Keeley), sisters Susan (Scott) Young, and Jennifer Nazer (Peter), nieces Sadie, Sammi and Megan, and nephews Spencer, Brandon, Connor, Mitchell and Kevin, who she adored and who loved her much. A friend and helper to everyone she knew and met, she will be deeply missed. A private wake is being held by her close family. In lieu of flowers, we ask simply that you hold on to fond memories of Debbie and her bright spirit, and keep her in your heart and prayers.
