Lorna Booke Brown1915-2013Salt Lake City, UTOur sweet, yet spunky mother, grandmother, mother-in-law and friend, aged 97, returned home to be with many loving family members on April 22, 2013 Lorna was born to Andrew and Alta Smith Booke in Bicknell, Utah on September 21, 1915. She was the fifth of eight children. She spent her childhood in Bicknell, later living in Spanish Fork. She married the love of her life, Alma F. Brown on August 15, 1937. They proudly raised three very strong and fiercely independent sons, James, Gordon & Thomas.Graduating from Steven Henager's Business College and spending her professional career as the HR director for JC Penney in Sugarhouse for 28 years, she retired in 1980. Lorna loved to bowl, golf and garden. Her special hybrid Iris continues to grow in her grandchildren's gardens today. She was also very talented at counted cross stitch and enjoyed making many beautiful crocheted blankets which are truly works of art.Lorna is survived by her son James (Cheri), daughter -in-law's Lynda Brown (Thomas) and Kathleen Doolin (Gordon), nine grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and many great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Alma, sons Gordon and Tom, and grandson Danny Brown.Graveside services to be held on Thursday, April 25,2013 at the Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park (Mountain View Section), 3401 Highland Dr. (1495 East) Salt Lake City, at 1:00 p.m. The family wishes to thank the skilled nursing staff of Hunter Hollow and Rocky Mountain Hospice for their loving care of our dear Lorna.
