Gaylen Stockham Rigby 1931 - 2013Gaylen Stockham Rigby passed away of natural causes at his home in Cottonwood Heights, Utah on April 23, 2013. He was born on July 28, 1931 to Merritt O. Rigby and Lulu Stockham Rigby. He married Jeanne Lyman in the Salt Lake Temple on March 26, 1954. He graduated from South High School in 1949 and served and LDS Mission to Denmark from 1951 1953. He served faithfully in numerous church callings including 3 Bishoprics. He served as a Salt Lake Police Department Chaplain for 10 years. He also served on the board and as the Chairman of the American Lung Association in Utah. He owned and operated Utah Pie Company. He and his cousin Ross Rigby became early pioneers in the barter industry with the founding of Exchange Enterprises. Gaylen was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Rene'. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, his sons Randy (Lois) of Sandy, Utah; Wayne (JoyLyn) of Highland, Utah; Allyn (Kerry) of Goodyear, Arizona; his sister Verona (Keith) Johnson of Salt Lake City, Utah; 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.Viewings will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 28 at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East 10600 South, Sandy, Utah and Monday at the Ward 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the service. The funeral services will be held on Monday, April 29, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Cottonwood 11th Ward, 1830 East 6400 South, Salt Lake City, Utah. Interment Larkin Sunset Gardens.
