Laurie Bowen Fyans1964 ~ 2013Laurie Bowen Fyans, 48, of Vancouver, Washington passed away April 19, 2013 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Laurie was born April 20, 1964 in Salt Lake City, Utah, the daughter of Dr. Robert E. Bowen and Jolayne Robbins Bowen. She attended schools in Salt Lake and graduated from East High School. She attended college at Snow College in Cedar City, Utah and was currently attending Portland Community College.She married Dr. Joseph Fyans III in Salt Lake City in 1984. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake City Temple. She worked as an office manager/dental assistant a long side of her husband and with other dentists. With her family they have lived in Salt Lake City, Goldsboro, North Carolina finally settling for the last 23 years in Vancouver, Washington. Growing up in Salt Lake City, she loved hiking, competing on ski teams, wind surfing, sailing and spending time at her families ranch in Oakley, Utah. She loved her family and spent a lot of time with her friends in activities throughout her years. She had a huge heart, caring for everyone she knew. She was loved by everyone she knew and had a wit about her that lifted others. As like any mother, she always made sure her children were provided for and loved. In the last 12 years she took on the roll as caregiver to her husband due to his failing health.She is survived by; her husband, Dr. Joseph Fyans III, her children; Michael Fyans, Danielle (Niel) Hayes and Rebecca Fyans. Her parents; Dr. Robert E. and Jolayne Robbins Bowen. Siblings; Becky (Bill) Ballentine, Scott (Vali Sommers) Bowen, Chris (Nancy Taylor) Bowen, Tracy Bowen and Brad (Shelly) Bowen.She was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Bowen.Services will be held Saturday, April 27, 2013 at Larkin Sunset Lawn (2350 East 1300 South) in Salt Lake City at 11:00 AM. Friends may visit with the family prior to services from 10 to 10:45 AM at the Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery.A memorial service will be held in Vancouver, Washington at the Vancouver LDS Third Ward Chapel on Saturday, May 4, 2013 at 11:30 AM.
