NEW ORLEANS ?— Gorkys Hernandez delivered a sacrifice fly in the tenth inning to give the New Orleans Zephyrs a 3-2 win over the Salt Lake Bees on Friday night. Jake Jefferies led off the inning with a double to right and pinch runner Kevin Mattison advanced to third on a foul fly to right.

After Chad Cordero (1-1) intentionally walked Wilson Valdez, Hernandez drove the ball to right center. Trent Oeltjen made the catch, but his throw was too late to get Mattison at the plate. Salt Lake had taken a 2-1 lead in the top of the eighth on an RBI infield single by Andrew Romine, but the Zephyrs tied the game in the bottom of the eighth on a solo homer by Bryan Petersen off of Ryan Brasier.

The Bees fell behind 1-0 in the first, but tied the game on an RBI single in the fifth by Brad Hawpe, who led the way with three hits.

Romine, Luis Rodriguez and Efren Navarro had two hits each, but Salt Lake stranded a season high 14 base runners. With the victory, New Orleans won the series three game to one, which is only their third in seventeen all-time series between the two teams.
