MILLCREEK — The Unified Police Department is seeking the public's help in locating a missing man who suffers from advanced stages of Alzheimer's disease.

Derald Nielson, 69, was last seen by a neighbor at 6:30 am Saturday morning walking his dog, according to Unified Police Lt. Justin Hoyal. He is described as 6 feet tall, with grey hair and blue eyes, wearing a grey cardigan, grey pants and a blue polo shirt.

Nielson's dog returned home without him and it is unknown if Nielson would be able to find his way home as a result of his illness. Nielson's wife began looking for him around noon, Hoyal said, and contacted police at approximately 3 p.m.

Officers searched the area extensively and were unable to locate Nielson. Anyone with information about the man's whereabouts is asked to contact police at 801-743-7000.
