Curtis J Murray1916 ~ 2013"Grandpa J" Murray passed peacefully at home of natural causes at 6:40 pm on May 8, 2013. He was 96 years-old and lived a big life. J was born on August 28, 1916 in Roosevelt, Utah and grew-up in Bingham Canyon. He served in combat as a Navy SeaBee in the South Pacific theater during World War II. J worked construction as a member of the operating Engineers.He was preceded by his wife, Phyllis Reid Murray and sister, Marell Timothy. He is survived by his sister, Evelyn Priano, his three daughters, Pauline Hendricks, Bernice Head and Christina Murray Kohlburn, and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.A brief service will be held at Brighton Point Ward House, 3455 East Bengal Blvd (7800 South) at 11am on Tuesday, May 14, 2013. Graveside service will follow at Sandy City Cemetery. There will be no public visitation. Donations to Primary Children's Hospital are requested in lieu of flowers.In the last entry in a journal he kept for a time, Grandpa J wrote: "I'm glad I grew-up in the time frame I did. I wish you all lots of luck for what you will face in the next 50+ years. See you all later. God bless."
