WINNERS BRACKET

SALEM HILLS 2, WESTLAKE 0: Salem Hills only recorded two hits, but it was enough to help the SkyHawks eke past Westlake in the 4A winners bracket game behind a strong performance from Colton Hill. Jake Mayer was the tough-luck loser for Westlake despite allowing just two hits to 24-win Salem Hills.

MOUNTAIN VIEW 6, CYPRUS 2: Mountain View jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first inning and never looked back in a strong victory in the 4A winners bracket.

TIMPANOGOS 5, WOODS CROSS 4: Jacob Church recorded two hits and drove in three runs as visiting Timpanogos eked out a victory Woods Cross in the 4A one-loss bracket.

MAPLE MOUNTAIN 5, MURRAY 2: Arik Mack struck out 14 Murray batters in a dominating second-round performance to lead the Golden Eagles to an impressive road victory. Kade Poulsen led the way offensively going 2 for 3 with a double and four RBI. The freshman is 9 for his last 10 at the plate.

ONE-LOSS BRACKET

ROY 6, BOUNTIFUL 0: Roy shut down Bountiful with Braxton Patton on the mound striking out six and only allowing two hits as the Royals hit the road for an impressive win in the 4A one-loss bracket.

LOGAN 3, OLYMPUS 2: Trailing 2-0 heading into the bottom of the seventh, the Grizzlies rallied with three runs in the seventh to escape with the victory over Olympus in the 4A one-loss bracket.

MOUNTAIN CREST 2, PROVO 1: Mountain Crest holds off Provo in the 4A one-loss bracket to advance to the second week of the state tournament next Monday.

SKY VIEW 5, CLEARFIELD 2: The Bobcats took care of business on their home field to knock off Clearfield for the 4A one-loss bracket victory.

5A PLAYOFFS

WINNERS BRACKET

SYRACUSE 2, AMERICAN FORK 0: Spencer Johnson and Jordan Cobabe combined on the one-hit shutout as Region 1 champion Syracuse continued its unlikely march through the playoffs with a solid victory over 5A contender American Fork.

BINGHAM 14, TAYLORSVILLE 3: The Miners scored seven runs in the first inning and never looked back in a surprisingly lopsided 5A winners bracket game at Taylorsville. Bingham's Brennon Lund earned the victory while he helped his own cause at the plate with a triple.

RIVERTON 3, DAVIS 2: After Davis scored twice in the top of the seventh to take a one-run lead, Jared White drove home the winning run in the bottom of the seventh as Riverton won a wild 5A winners bracket game. White also picked up the victory on the mound.

LAYTON 4, PLEASANT GROVE 3: Pleasant Grove scored three runs in the third inning to tie the game. Both teams battled hard but the Lancers came out on top scoring their winning run in the bottom of the 10th inning.

ONE-LOSS BRACKET

ALTA 11, KEARNS 2: Chipper Lucero homered in the first inning and Alta never looked back with an easy one-loss bracket victory over Kearns to remain alive in the 5A state tournament. Braydon Goddard and Jesse Emery each doubled for the Hawks.

COTTONWOOD 9, FREMONT 4: Cottonwood kept its season alive with a home victory over Fremont in the 5A one-loss bracket.

COPPER HILLS 5, WEST 2: Tanner Johnson slugged a home run and double as the Grizzlies pulled away late to eliminate West from the 5A state tournament.

JORDAN 8, VIEWMONT 1: Colton Shaver allowed just two hits in a complete-game effort and Conner Ogden led the Beetdiggers offensively with a triple and a home run as Region 3 champion stayed alive in the one-loss bracket.

4A FIRST ROUND

CYPRUS 1, OLYMPUS 1: Billy Madsen booted the game-tying goal in the 86th minute to force overtime. From there, Olympus fended off Cyrpus through two overtimes before Jaden Olson punched in the winning goal in a shootout.

OREM 2, MOUNTAIN CREST 1: Finn Brian and Daniel Corbett each found the back of the net to propel Orem past Mountain Crest in the first round.

TIMPANOGOS 2, ROY 1: Timpanogos David Enciso and Ryan Steggell knocked in the winning goals in the second half to send one of 4A's favorites packing in the massive first round upset.

EAST 4, SKYLINE 1: Landen Carlsen netted two goals as East put away Skyline relatively easily in the first round.

MOUNTAIN VIEW 2, LOGAN 0: Mountain View's Alec Woolley registered both goals and James Pena took care of business between the posts as the Bruins pushed past Logan.

BOUNTIFUL 3, HILLCREST 1: Bountiful took an early 2-nil lead heading into halftime and then added an additional goal in the second half in an opening first round win against Hillcrest.

MURRAY 2, SPRINGVILLE 0: Clay Powell and Sean Speirs found the back of the net for the Spartans.

MAPLE MOUNTAIN 2, BONNEVILLE 1: Facundo Curi tied the game in the second half to force overtime before Kevin Beteta buried the golden goal in the second overtime to keep Maple Mountain's season breathing.
