SALT LAKE CITY — For the first time in school history, the Westminster College men’s and women’s track and field teams are sending two participants to the NAIA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships. This year’s event is hosted by Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion, Ind., from May 23–25.

Oliver Lange qualified for the men’s marathon for the second consecutive season. Lange earned his trip with a time 1:11:44 at the Moab Half Marathon and enters this week’s race as the No. 13 seed. He was named a NAIA All-American in the marathon after placing fifth last year with his time of 2:34.13.

She qualified for the heptathlon after scoring 4,166 points at the West Coast Invitational. Kueffner is the No. 14 seed in the event and is coming off a meet where she set four personal-best marks.

The heptathlon begins Thursday at 8:30 a.m. MDT with the 100 hurdles, high jump, shot put and 200 meters. The event concludes Friday with the long jump, javelin and 800 meters, also starting at 8:30 a.m. MDT. The men’s marathon race begins at 4 a.m. MDT on Saturday.
