C. Birdean Whatcott Beckstead"I'm just fine"Birdean was reunited with her honey on May 17, 2013 in the quiet hours of the morning in her comfy little bed. She was born November 19, 1926 in Kanosh, Utah to Vin and Dora Whatcott. She married Jesse Beckstead January 3, 1947, who preceded her in death. They were blessed with six children.Mom enjoyed quilting, crocheting, old Western movies and romance novels. She enjoyed her pig collection and was famous for her funny one liners. One of her greatest joys was being around her loving family.She was the proud mother of Shearl (Jerry) Knorr, VerLynn (Barry) Gordon, Randy (Jacque) Beckstead, Brent (Kathy) Beckstead, Lorie (Don) Jeffs, Shawn (Crystal) Beckstead, 41 grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. Also survived by brothers Glen (Joyce) Whatcott, LaMont (Karen) Whatcott, LeGrand (Marsha) Whatcott and sister Genece (Ben) Black and numerous nieces and nephews. Also preceded in death by parents and grandson Trevor Jeffs.Thank you to Curo hospice for their compassionate and loving care, especially Mariam. A special thank you to their adopted daughter Dena, for her loving and caring friendship.Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 22, 2013, 11:00 a.m., at Jenkins-Soffe South Valley, 1007 West South Jordan Parkway (10600 South), South Jordan. Viewings will be Tuesday, May 21, 2013, from 6:00-8:00 pm, and Wednesday morning one hour prior to services also at Jenkins-Soffe South Valley. Interment at South Jordan Cemetery.
