Judith G. Hansen12/10/39 ~ 05/17/13Our beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, Judith G. Hansen, 73, returned peacefully to her loving Heavenly Father on May 17, 2013, with her loving husband by her side, in South Jordan Utah. Judy was born on December 10, 1939 in Cleveland, Ohio, to Frank Lastuka and Vera Viola George. Her father died, following his military service in World War II, when she was seven years old. She grew up with her younger brother Don, who she cherished. Judy attended and graduated from high school in Cleveland, Ohio. She went on to attend nursing school and received special training as a nurse. On July 10, 1959, she married Jan Kent Hansen in the Idaho Falls Temple. They were blessed with four children, who they raised together and loved. Her husband served in the Church Education System and they made their home in Provo, Utah, Burley and Moscow, Idaho, as well as Yakima, Washington, before moving to South Jordan, Utah to be near their family. Judy was employed in the medical field for many years. She loved her profession and especially loved to serve others. She was a hard-worker and did everything to the best of her abilities. She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had an enduring and lasting testimony. As a faithful member and convert to the church, she shared her testimony in word and service to others throughout her life. She served in many church positions. Judy was a wonderful mother, grandmother, homemaker, friend and example to everyone. Mom loved all things beautiful, especially her roses. She will always be remembered for her fun loving spirit and contagious laugh. Mom loved her family and created many family traditions and activities to bring her family closer together. She was always so willing to serve. Her home was a place to gather and find love, kindness, peace, wisdom, and friendship. She held a special place in her heart for each member of her family. Her grandchildren were her jewels, and she was their jewel too. She loved being a mom and a grandmother to her grandchildren and family, they were the light and joy of her life. She endured to the end with grace and humility. We love you mom. You will always hold a special place in our hearts. Judy is survived by her husband, Jan K.
